Oktoberfest 2013 in Denver Colorado Coming Soon!

At Oktoberfest, it's all about food! Eating a lot of it...and I mean a LOT of it! Like these guys...last year they pounded brats until they nearly exploded.

This year, Oktoberfest will happen September 27 through October 6 downtown Denver.

Denver County Fair Coming in August 2013

Here's a video from last year's 2nd annual Denver county fair, which runs this year in 2013 from August 9-11 at the National Western Complex. Tons of fun for the kids and a cheap day out for sure.

Yes, You Really Can Do Anything if You Believe it's Truly Possible

It's been a busy summer here in Colorado. Work, vacation, adventure, keeping in tune with the outdoors. Pretty soon we'll turn around and it will be Christmas season already and we'll be asking where the time went.

All the more reason we should be embracing every moment of our days as precious little pieces of gold...never allowing any of it to be wasted or hasted.

I came across this new blog post on RaisedVibration.com where the author added a TedX Liz Murray video and titled the blog post Do You Really Believe Anything is Truly Possible?

Although I was a bit distracted by her unneeded pacing movement, she had an important story and message about navigating, overcoming challenge and chasing possibilities. New Moment...New Opportunity! Good speech and a worthwhile spending of your ten minutes.

Have a great weekend!

Lucy.

July Drought Coming for Colorado Just Like Last Year

In Colorado, you never really know what to expect when it comes to weather....except that it will be hot, sunny, and more hot for the full month of July. Last year, as in this video, July was full of drought.

I suspect this year will be no different as the almost daily thunder and lightening swells we're getting are not releasing any measurable moisture. So, turn off those sprinklers and let your grass grow brown. It's going to be another hot and dry July.

Colorado Events for Weekend June 22-23, 2013

9News.com reported on the top 9 things to do in Colorado this weekend. Tons of fests, festivals, showcases and tours. No one should be bored living in this great state this weekend.

There's also the Hanmadang Tae Kwon Do national tournament in Colorado Springs that of course wouldn't get much, if any, publicity.

And, there will be a baseball tournament at every lot with four bases and dirt.

But, my favorite activity of the weekend will be picking up my daughter from her first week away from home at camp.  Can hardly wait to hear what new experiences she had. And, I'm betting she great a couple of inches too.

Strange Weather Today in South Denver

Today I was in the Parker area and my cell phone lost its juice so I couldn't take a picture of the odd cloud formations this afternoon. First, it poured for about 10 minutes. Then the sun came out. Then the real clouds came in and the tornado watches started to appear over the radio.

Bunches of big cotton balls in the sky. That's what the clouds looked like. Lightening took over with some thunder, but the big rain never came. Maybe they hit out east more.

One of the big misconceptions about Colorado is that it's always snowing in the winter and always bright and sunny in the summer. Well, the winter part is definitely not true. The summer part isn't too far off. It's definitely sunny here 28 out of 30 days every month. But, we'll get these odd patterns of days where there's a guaranteed thunder storm with lightening around 4pm.

Up until about 10 years ago, those daily t-storms would have rain....downpours of rain with them. But, these days, we don't seem to get the moisture, just lightening.

Getting Writing Inspiration from Starbucks in Woodland Park Colorado

Here's my view of beautiful Pike's Peak while sitting at a table in a Starbucks in Woodland Park Colorado. If you can't gain incentive and inspiration to write here, you might as well pack up your computer and give it away to someone.

Colorado is a great place to get inspiration. All you have to do is drive up to the mountains and find a back road by a stream or go to some mountain town with electricity and surely you'll find an internet connection and an outlet. Actually, now that I think about it, I've been on several mountain tops and able to get a cell phone connection and Internet connection too.

Sometime soon, I'll go into the mountains and record a video of something and upload it to this blog and post it. Isn't technology wonderful?
